Cone Shaped Christmas Tree Decor

I love the embellished, cone shaped Christmas trees I have been seeing for the past few years and what I love most about them is that you don't have to go out and buy the "cone shaped form" to make one of these pretty trees.  You could actually just use chipboard or poster board and make your own cone shape and then decorate or embellish it however you like. I have been working on a few of my own cone shaped Christmas trees and will be sure to post pictures when I am finished.. but until then, I wanted to share some that I found online that were very inspiring to me.  I believe all of these have the tutorials as well :)

First up are these gorgeous fabric covered trees that I found over at The Creative Exchange... LOVE them!

I love these pretty trees that I found over at Hero Arts. With the selection of beautiful papers out there.. the possibilities are endless!

oh.. my Goodness! LOVE these pretty glittered ones over at eighteen25.  I really love how they sit on the pillar candle holders... very cute! Just FYI: You can get the Styrofoam forms like the ones used in this pic AND the candle holders over at the Dollar Tree for a buck a piece!

Be still my beating heart!! I have fallen in love with these gorgeous sparkly, ruffly trees over at Kate Landers Events, LLC.

Have a look at this GORGEOUS vintage embellished cone shaped tree from My Love of Style. Oh, my gosh... it's stunning!

This is just a few of the beautiful decorated cone Christmas trees out there.. I hope you have enjoyed this little round up and that they have inspired you as much as they have me.  Thank you to all of the talented ladies out there who made these beautiful trees :)

If you are wanting to make your own cones instead of buying the cone shape form, I found the instructions over at The Creativity Exchange to be very helpful and love how my cones came out!

Thank you so much for dropping by :)

Survival Kits - Cute Craft Gifts

I have been thinking a lot about survival kits lately.  These are cute handmade gifts that you can give for any occasion..  The best part about them is that they are easy to make and inexpensive to put together.

Take a look at these cute survival kits:

Here is a Teachers Survival Kit.... it is a teachers appreciation gift and would be perfect to give at the beginning of the school year.   I found this one at BH&G.

This one is a Everyday Life Survival Kit that I found at Creative Craft Ideas. This cute little tin which looks to be a re-purposed Altoids mint tin is filled with little things that we all need in every day life.  Visit the link to see the list of items in the kit.

You can make the kit as large or small as you prefer. I love this Maid of Honor Survival Kit that I found at Vintage Folly!  I has tissues, deodorant, safety pins and things like- emergency items to help the Maid of Honor out on the special day.  Visit the link to see the full list of items for the kit PLUS a few other wedding  related survival kits!

Easy, Budget Friendly Mod Podge Crafts

I wanted to round up a few Mod Podge crafts today.. These are all super easy and budget friendly crafts.. For some of them you may even have all the materials you need (or at least some) just sitting around the house.

 Decorative Vases
@Natural Home and Garden

 These pretty vases are super easy to make.. You really won't believe how easy and inexpensive they are to create.

Cute Paper Covered Clipboards
@All Things Heart and Home
Look at these cute little clipboards I found that were made using Mod Podge! I love the matching pens too :)

Upcycled Water Bottle Vase
@homework
Yes, you read right! This vase is actually made out of a common water bottle.  It is so pretty and super easy to make, too.

 Embellished Clothespins

You can buy clothespins super cheap... You can buy a pack of 50 of them at Wal-Mart for a few bucks! Just FYI --You can get them at the Dollar Store (Dollar General) too but they didn't seem to be as good of quality as the ones at Wal-Mart.

@Design Sponge
Do you ever want to change up the lid on a glass jar? You can use Mod Podge to do just that .. It's a great way to use up your scrapbooking paper scraps! These lids turned out gorgeous .. love them!

One more thing before I end the post... I HAVE to share this awesome HOMEMADE MOD PODGE RECIPE that I found!! Mod Podge is awesome but it is kind of expensive... I don't mind buying it because it goes a long way but I'm always up for a homemade craft recipe.. She swears it works just as good as the real stuff... A huge THANK YOU to the girls over at Babblings and More :)

There are tons of other Mod Podge projects out there.. These are just a few. I'm sure I'll be doing many more Mod Podge posts in the future  :)

DIY Coasters!

Here is a small round-up of DIY drink coaster tutorials.  I saw this first set and couldn't help myself from seeing what other ones were out there..

curling ribbon coasters@ChicaandJo
I happened upon Chica and Jo today and found these super cute coasters! I love the bright colors and they are so easy to make.. or at least they look easy but best of all they don't cost a ton to make.. Curly ribbon comes in tons of bright beautiful colors and they do not cost a lot either.

re-purposed coasters @ Evie S.
I love these DIY re-purposed coasters that I found at Evie S. These were made by covering an old set of coasters and they turned out great!   If you don't have any old coasters to re-purpose, you could always use some of those round coasters from Chilis or other restaurants. I don't see why those couldn't work as well.  Of course, you could always get some thin cork board and cut it in whatever shape you like or maybe glue a couple layers of it together and cover it with pretty paper like these were.

DIY coasters @ Craft Envy

Take a look at this pretty set of coasters I found at Craft Envy!  You will not believe how easy these are to make.. it's almost mind blowing. Go have a look and be amazed..  I already have everything needed except 4 blank tiles... hope I remember these next time in Lowe's.

duct tape coasters@ Natalie's Creations
 Look what you can make with some cardboard circles and decorative duct tape! The more things I see made with decorative duct tape, the more I want some... it comes in all different colors and designs, too.  I found this clever DIY coaster idea at Natalie's Creations!  P.S. Be sure to see the cute bulletin board she made, too.

DIY Coaster Tiles @ Purplest Pecalin
I found these gorgeous DIY coaster tiles at Purplest Pecalin along with another fabulous pair....   As I sat looking at these tiles, I quickly determined that they would look just as pretty hanging on a wall as they wood laying on a table.   They turned out amazing.... love them!

travertine coaster tiles@Hey, Let's Rock!
Look at these pretty tile coasters I found at Hey, Let's Rock! These are a little different than the other tiles in that they are made with the travertine tiles. I LOVE the rustic look of them.  It's interesting too that even though the designs look painted on, they were actually stenciled and then colored in with a black Sharpie.  That's pretty cool!

I hope you have enjoyed this coaster small coaster round-up  as much as I loved gathering them.   Happy Coaster Making!!
