My friend Sunny sent me these cute toilet paper tube butterflies!  Aren't they sooo cute?!  She also made the chalkboard in the background. Notice the cute matching butterfly cutout in the top pic.  Can you guess how she made this chalkboard?  Chalkboard Contact Paper!!!!   Yes, that's right... contact paper and no messy paint :)  I'm not opposed to the chalkboard paint.. I think it's really neat but I can hardly wait to make some chalkboard crafts of my own with this chalkboard contact paper.  I will update this post with the tutorial for the TP butterflies as soon as she posts it.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you, Sunny for sharing your cute crafts!

  1. Thanks for the post-love Jaime...and of course - thank you for inspiring me in the first place with your article on toilet paper roll crafts (http://jamiebrock.hubpages.com/hub/Clever-Crafts-Using-Toilet-Paper-Rolls). I'll let you know when I finish the butterfly mobile I'm thinking of making. Also - can you picture a big 12x12 inch butterfly-shaped chalkboard? Oh the possibilities! Have fun!

    1. You are so welcome.. a 12x12 butterfly shaped chalkboard sounds so cute! I was planning on maybe cutting out a train with my Cricut that I got for Christmas. I was going to use black vinyl and put it in my little boys room on the wall. He is crazy over trains.. Now I'm thinking maybe I'll somehow use the chalkboard contact paper to do that. I bet he would love a chalkboard train! You are inspiring me, too!

  3. Sometimes the chalk I have writes really well...sometimes it's faint and I have to press hard, or erase and write again. I want to try those "wet-erase" chalk markers but am afraid they'll be permanent on chalkboard paper, as some reviewers said. Let me know what you think.
